Chapter 7 · Teaching leaders, not followers

Even a Mentor Needs Mentors

A founder story about teaching and shared leadership.

KOA-STORY-066 · Historical founder story adapted for public reflection

Throughout my business journey I described receiving guidance from other experienced entrepreneurs and leaders while I mentored people of my own. I learned new approaches to sales, marketing, team systems and managing change.

The leadership lesson I carried forward

I have never wanted growth to mean pretending I already know everything. Receiving a mentor's perspective can expand what I see, while I remain responsible for deciding what fits my values and circumstances. That balance is important for the kind of self-led community I want Koa to be.

Reflection

What kind of leader are you becoming?

Where could you receive helpful expertise without handing over your own decision-making?

Your contribution does not need to look like mine to matter.
