Chapter 7 · Teaching leaders, not followers

The Difference Between Doing the Work and Teaching It Well

A founder story about teaching and shared leadership.

KOA-STORY-063 · Historical founder story adapted for public reflection

For many years I worked directly with people as a healer, teacher and mentor. Eventually I began developing education that could help trained practitioners apply a method rather than only watch me demonstrate it.

The leadership lesson I carried forward

I discovered that explaining an experience is not the same as designing a responsible learning process. Education needs boundaries, practice, clear language and a way of knowing what someone has actually learned. That continues to inform how I think about Koa Academy and certification.

Reflection

What kind of leader are you becoming?

What would you need to document before someone else could responsibly learn from your experience?

Your contribution does not need to look like mine to matter.
