I wrote about living by the water in Thailand, riding scooters, drinking coconuts, eating Thai food and being with my family. These were not spectacular events. They were ordinary days made memorable by being together.
Why I remember this
I had once imagined freedom as something that required ever more money and success. But the life I wanted could look simple: a good meal, shared laughter, the wind near the beach and work that could fit around family. That understanding changed the questions I asked about prosperity.
