Chapter 8 · Integration and the Koa legacy

I Was Tired of Being On a Mission Every Day

What the many parts of my journey taught me about the life I want to build.

KOA-STORY-073 · Founder reflections adapted for the Koa Journal

For much of my life I had identified as someone devoted to helping, teaching or making a difference. Later I wrote about feeling weary of always needing a cause, a goal or another place to make an impact.

The lesson I want to carry into the future

I still care about service. But I have come to appreciate the quiet human parts of life that do not need to be transformed into a teaching moment. Sitting with family, learning something for its own sake or doing nothing can also belong in a wholehearted life.
