Why I Began Teaching Others to Do the Work

From packed healing centers and back-to-back sessions toward training people to lead in their own way.

A personal reflection from Leimomi

Long before I created BEing Alohi Academy, I ran busy yoga, healing and spiritual retail centers. I taught classes, worked with members, managed operations and learned how quickly a business can become dependent on the person at its center.

Some of my favorite memories were not the revenue numbers or how full the calendar became. They were the moments when members took the initiative to welcome someone new, make tea, help care for the space or invite a friend. Instructors developed their voices. People contributed without being asked.

I realized I wanted to build leaders, not a line of people waiting for me.

I wrote operational handbooks and taught others how to help run centers. Later, in my independent work, I began creating my own Soul Alignment Blueprint and multidimensional healing methods in forms that could be taught to practitioners.

I never wanted everyone to become a copy of me. The point was to help someone understand her gifts, gain skill, take responsibility and bring her own work into the world.

A community is alive when people can contribute from who they are, not only receive from the founder.

Why this matters for Koa now

Education, certification, leadership and service are different stages and responsibilities. Certification requires the appropriate training and assessment; inspiration alone does not confer competence. A good system must make those distinctions clear while giving learners room to develop.

The work of the Academy is not only to preserve the lessons I have learned. It is to help capable people embody what they study and—where their training allows—carry meaningful work forward independently.

A moment to reflect

What about your journey?

What knowledge or gift have you been carrying alone that might become more valuable if you learned how to teach it responsibly?

You can take that question into a journal, a walk or a conversation. You decide what comes next.
