We were interested in living on Hawaiʻi Island and connecting with people who spent time in the ocean. Through a conversation with someone we had reached out to, we found a possible place to stay and a community willing to welcome us while we settled.
What I carried into the next chapter
I have long described the encounter as a meaningful synchronicity. The tangible lesson is equally important: we reached out, accepted help and became part of a network of real people. A new beginning rarely happens through self-reliance alone.
What about your own journey?
Who could you reach out to—not to be rescued, but to create a real exchange of help and connection?
Your experience can be different from mine and still lead you to an important decision.
